RIT, Niagara, Army Share Weekly Atlantic Hockey Honors

Paul Zanette, Niagara senior forward was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week. He scored three goals, three assists and six points for Niagara in a series sweep of Sacred Heart. On Friday night, Zanette scored a goal and two assists for three points, while on Saturday he scored two goals and an assist for three points. Zanette had two power-play goals on the weekend, including finishing with a +2 ranking.
Zanette’s second goal of the game against the Pioneers was the game-winning goal. On the weekend, Zanette averaged three points a game and 1.50 goals per game.
Atlantic Hockey Co-Goaltenders of the Week were Army's Ryan Leets and RIT's Shane Madalora.
Leets made 73 saves and allowed just three goals to help Army earn three points against Robert Morris. Leets made a career-best 43 saves during a 3-1 victory and then turned away 30 shots during a 2-2 overtime tie against the league’s second-place team. Leets made double-digit saves in each period during the victory and then kept Robert Morris off the scoreboard as Army rallied for the tie. Army is now 2-0-1 in its last three games with Leets in net for all three.
Madolora stopped 59-of-62 shots, in helping lead the Tigers to three road points against Holy Cross over the weekend. On Friday, he stopped 22 shots for his second career shutout and second of the season, as RIT rolled to a 4-0 win. On Saturday, he made 37 stops, including three remarkable stops in tight during the final minute of regulation to preserve a 3-3 tie. Madolora is the lone Division I goalie not to suffer a loss this season.
RIT also got the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, with forward Ben Lynch. Lynch tallied four points on two goals and two assists, as the Tigers earned three points on the road at Holy Cross. On Friday, Lynch dished out a pair of assists and was plus-2 in a 4-0 win. The following night, he tallied his first multi-goal game, scoring twice in a 3-3 tie. Lynch now has 17 points (3-14-17) in 25 games and is plus-9 this season.
