Adirondack Plays In Front of AHL Record Crowd
by Staff Report/
The Adirondack Phantoms, the affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and a team that once played in Philadelphia, set an AHL attendance record Friday playing in the Phillies baseball stadium, across the street from their old home.
The record crowd of 46,653 watched the Phantoms defeat the Hershey Bears 4-3 in overtime at Citizens Bank Park, four days after the NHL's Winter Classic at the baseball stadium.
The crowd was more than twice as big as the previous record of 21,673 set last year in the outdoor event between Connecticut and Providence at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
