Hamonic Out 2 Weeks
by Staff Report/
The New York Islanders blew a two-goal lead in losing to Buffalo in a shootout on Saturday at Nassau Coliseum. They also lost defenseman Travis Hamonic for two weeks, after he suffered a broken nose.
Hamonic, a top-pair defenseman in just his second NHL season, required surgery to fix the break.
Hamonic has one goal and 12 points in 51 games this season, and is tops among team defensemen with a plus-4.
