In the final NHL Central Scouting Rankings before the 2023 NHL Draft, 14 players from New York and New Jersey made the list.
The highest-ranking player was Quentin Musty (Hamburg, N.Y.), coming in at No. 14 among North American skaters. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound has 26 goals and 78 points for the OHL's Sudbury Wolves this season. Still, Musty dropped three spots from the midterm rankings, which had him at No. 11.
Only one goalie from New York made the list: Stephen Peck (New York, N.Y.), who led Avon Old Farms to a NEPSAC Elite 8 championship this winter.
Let's take a look at the full list of New York and New Jersey natives.
