While the 2024 NHL Draft class in New York and New Jersey doesn’t appear to have the high-end players that the 2023 NHL Draft class will have, there are still a handful of skilled forwards and defensemen with physical tools looking to make a name for themselves over the next two seasons.
After a stellar sophomore season with Brunswick and the Mid Fairfield Junior Rangers, Drew DellaSalla (Rye, N.Y.) has leaped to the front of the line. A third-round pick of the Youngstown Phantoms in the 2022 USHL Phase I draft, DellaSalla was invited to USA Hockey’s NTDP Evaluation Camp and has showcased his ability to produce offensively at a variety of levels.
As would be expected outside of elite, generational talents, there are question marks for most of the players on this list.
However, each of these ’06s have at least one elite attribute today that could move the needle when NHL scouts start evaluating them in earnest next summer.
