Adam Robbins has spent nearly his entire life in New Jersey.

The grandest exception for the Alpine native who turns 19 years old on April 12 has been the past six months, which he’s spent as a forward with the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League.

“I never even went to sleep-away camp growing up, so this is definitely new to me,” said the right-handed shooter, who has 32 points (10-22—32) in 44 games this season, as of Feb. 26.

And when this campaign concludes, Robbins will be returning to the Garden State, where he’ll attend Princeton University later this year. While he said “being close to home is a nice add-on,” it wasn’t one of the main deciding factors for him when it came time to select where he’ll continue his hockey career.
