ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The USHL held its inaugural American Cup Showcase Dec. 3-5 at the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex and the Rochester Ice Center.
The Green Bay Gamblers and Youngstown Phantoms competed in two USHL regular-season games, with the Gamblers winning both by 4-3 scores.
Nine players spread out amongst both teams had direct ties to the Tri-State area. There was none more popular than Green Bay forward Nicholas Van Tassell (Basking Ridge, N.J.), whose family and friends traveled to Rochester to watch him play.
