Anne Marie Parente was on the verge of tears. Not because her boys — Charlie and Vincent — were about to win a championship.
But because they were smiling for the pure joy of playing the game they love.
“It’s incredible. It’s great,” Parente said. “And I’ll be very honest — if they told us tomorrow we wouldn’t have games for the rest of the year, it doesn’t matter to me or my husband. They’re still training, they’re still out there. If there’s a game, wonderful. Go out there and just have fun. It’s kind of the attitude we have this year. Just seeing them back on the ice, because it’s been so long, it’s great.”
