WEST CHESTER, Pa. — The New Jersey Rockets made easy work of the competition at the Atlantic District 16-U Qualifier at the Ice Line.
The Rockets defeated New Jersey Titans and Valley Forge Minutemen by three goals and five goals, respectively, to start out the weekend. The last game of the weekend proved tougher, but Noel Rubin’s team eked out a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Junior Flyers.
By winning the Atlantic District 16-U Qualifier, the Rockets will move on to next weekend’s district championship finals against the North Jersey Avalanche. The best-of-three finals should be highly competitive. The Avs will have an advantage in the high-end talent department, but the Rockets are an older team with some solid players of their own.
