The road to "The Show" will go through different cities this season for players in the New Jersey Devils organization, while prospects in the AA tier of the New York Islanders system also be will calling a new city home.
The headline move involves the Devils’ American Hockey League affiliate, which relocated from Albany, N.Y., where it was based for the past seven seasons, to Binghamton, N.Y., replacing the Ottawa Senators’ AHL club, which departed for Belleville, Ont.
New Jersey also will be affiliated with an ECHL team for the first time since the 2013-14 season when it partnered with the now-folded Elmira Jackals, inking a one-year deal with the Adirondack Thunder. Meanwhile, the Islanders switched their ECHL affiliate from the Missouri Mavericks, now the Kansas City Mavericks, to the expansion Worcester Railers for the 2017-18 campaign.
