University of Connecticut junior goaltender Tomas Vomacka has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators, the organization announced on Thursday.
Vomacka, 21, was drafted by Nashville in the fifth round (No. 154) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
A native of the Czech Republic, Vomacka played 71 games in three seasons with the Huskies, amassing a 32-33-5 record with an NCAA-career .906 save percentage and 2.87 goals-against average. As a freshman, he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
As a junior, Vomacka was tabbed a third-team Hockey East all-star. He played in every single minute of UConn’s 23 games and posted a 10-11-2 record with a 2.84 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
