Success in college hockey often begins and ends with the goaltender.
RIT has things no differently as it boasts Atlantic Hockey’s top puck stopper in sophomore Logan Drackett.
Despite earning seven of the team’s 15 wins last season, the Calgary native managed only an .869 save percentage in 19 appearances. An overall lack of consistency in the net was a major reason for the Tigers failing to advance past the first round of the league playoffs for the second straight year after making back-to-back NCAA appearances in 2015 and 2016.
But what a difference a year makes.
