Just one weekend remains before New York State hosts the final four for two of the six Division 1 men’s conferences. Following this weekend’s best-of-three series, the ECAC scene once again shifts to Lake Placid as Atlantic Hockey goes to Buffalo after deciding its champion in Rochester from 2007-18.
Quinnipiac and Cornell are the top two seeds in the ECAC tournament, which will see Tri-State clubs compete for Lake Placid slots in Hamden, Conn., Ithaca, and Potsdam this weekend. The Bobcats held the advantage in the regular-season standings. The remaining series involves No. 4 Harvard and No. 5 Dartmouth.
One Atlantic Hockey series is already underway as Sacred Heart and RIT kicked off their 4 vs. 5 clash on Wednesday night in Bridgeport, Conn. The deciding third game is slated for a 7 p.m. puck drop tonight from Webster Bank Arena.
The rest of that league’s slate includes Army West Point visiting top-seeded American International after an upset road sweep last weekend, while Niagara visits Air Force. The lone series not involving Tri-State teams sees second-seeded Bentley hosting Robert Morris in Waltham, Mass.
