MILTON, Mass. — New York Hockey Journal attended multiple prep hockey holiday showcases during the weekend, including the 56th annual Flood-Marr event.
We were on hand to watch the full Dec. 17 schedule, which featured several quality matchups. One young New York native, in particular, ’06 defenseman Joe Mense (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) turned a lot of heads for Noble & Greenough school as a big, mobile and poised two-way performer who scored a nice goal against Deerfield Academy to set the tone for his team.
After playing the fall schedule for the Boston Little Bruins 16 split-season team, Mense has shown a lot of improvement with a big upside for the future.
Here is a more detailed breakdown of Mense and nine other players from the area who stood out in our viewings.
