Former BC role player Jacob Tortora finds match with OHL Barrie Colts

Jacob Tortora’s season ended prematurely, and in a painful manner.

On Feb. 16 against the Kingston Frontenacs, the Barrie Colts right wing sprung loose on a breakaway, but fell down hard on his left side. Down but not out, the right-handed shooter one-armed the puck toward the net with his left arm.

“I still wanted to score even though I was lying on the ice,” the 19-year-old said. “I came close, too.”

Unfortunately for Tortora, not lighting the lamp wasn’t the worst part of the play.
