Former Union blueliner Nick DeSimone leads AHL San Jose Barracuda

Nick DeSimone has 67 points (21-46–67) in 128 career AHL regular-season games and nine points in 21 career Calder Cup playoff games with the San Jose Barracuda.

The East Amherst, N.Y., native played 109 games at Union College from 2014-17 before serving as an alternate captain for one season with the Buffalo Junior Sabres (OJHL).

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman was a first-team OJHL All-Star in his one season with the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.
