Two years ago, it was Marc Del Gaizo who played the role of hero for Massachusetts in the Frozen Four. On Saturday, his older brother, Anthony, did it a little differently.
A game-winning, national championship-game-sending slap shot gave Marc that title in Buffalo. This time, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a dirty, jam-it-in goal off a rebound in front gave Anthony the glory, as he potted the game-tying goal in the national semifinal with just over 10 minutes to go.
His second goal of the season – his first came in the regional semifinal – couldn’t have come at a better time.
