Governor Livingston-New Providence head coach Michael Criscitello’s was asked to recall his team's performance in the New Jersey Public C championship game. His first response: That everything was a blur.

“While we did our very best to take in each moment,” he said, “it all happened so fast.”

What he was able to reflect on, however, was that the team’s 2-0 victory over Morris Knolls was historic.

“It means everything to our team but (moreso) to our community,” he said. “The growth of hockey in our area of Berkeley Heights, New Providence and Mountainside … (it) has slowly grown into a hockey town. Each year, more and more kids attend our schools, and our program continues to grow and add depth. After winning a conference championship last season and a state championship this season, you see the slow progression build to a hockey town.”
