When St. Norbert College coach Tim Coghlin describes the skills of sophomore forward Dominick Sacco, the first thing he stresses is speed.
"He’s a terrific skater," Coghlin said of the Brooklyn N.Y., native. "His first three steps, he’s full speed. He’s got a great change of pace."
Sacco speaks about his hockey career — recently, his season culminating in a Division 3 national championship — in a similar fashion.
"Enjoy the situation you’re at, whether you’re not playing in college or a lower junior league," Sacco said, offering advice to other hockey players. "Enjoy the time you have, because it’s going to fly by, as cliché as it sounds. Realize how lucky you are to play a sport and be in a room of guys that have the same goal as you and you have friendships with. Take a second to enjoy it."
