That famous quote from “Field of Dreams” might address baseball, but it could have been the motto of August’s Aurora Games at Albany’s Times Union Center, which featured a women’s hockey game as part of a weeklong women’s sports festival. The idea behind the festival was to give female athletes another large-scale opportunity to showcase their talents.
“We need more of these events so that more women can have opportunities,” said Digit Murphy, who led the Aurora Games’ women’s hockey events and coached Team Americas. “So I really think we have to think of a new way that really engages the community.”
