Jordan Nolan sat in his locker stall inside the Buffalo Sabres dressing room at Key-Bank Center after his first official practice as a member of the Sabres in late September. As the media crowded around hima, the son of former Sabres head coach Ted Nolan wore a smile as he answered one question after another about his homecoming of sorts.
To be sure, it had been an interesting week for Nolan, 28.
Nolan was in China with the Los Angeles Kings as part of the the NHL’s first venture into the country. The visit included a pair of exhibition games on Sept. 21 and 23 where the Kings played the Vancouver Canucks.
The Kings placed Nolan on waivers on Sept. 26. Less than 24 hours later, he was scooped up by the Sabres.
