For Katy Knoll, it was proof that even the worst Monday can have a silver lining.
Knoll, a junior forward on the Nichols School girls prep hockey team, wore an ear-to-ear smile when she received word that she would be representing her country with the national team that will take part in the 2018 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship that will be played in Russia this month.
"I got a call at the end of November," Knoll, a native of Amherst, N.Y., said. "I remember it was a Monday night and I had the worst Monday ever. I got a call after practice and they told me I was selected for the team. It was unbelievable."
