The USHL All-Stars had been ambushed by the U.S. NTDP, 7-1, at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
Yet Mackie Samoskevich (Newtown, Conn.) of the losing White squad left the 2021 BioSteel All-American Prospects Game with no regrets.
“My first time playing on national television,” said the 5-foot-11 forward, “something I’ll never forget, and cherish for sure.”
He managed to notch an assist in the blowout, but scoresheets can be deceiving. According to his Chicago Steel GM Ryan Hardy (Madison, Conn.), Samoskevich distinguished himself in this game played for the benefit of NHL scouts and executives.
