The SUNY-Fredonia men’s hockey team struggled to start the 2019-20 season, dropping five of its first nine games and winning just once, not including a shootout victory in the semifinals of the Castleton Tournament and tiebreaker victory after Fredonia tied Nazareth in the finals (both are counted as ties in the official record).
Entering December, the team was in desperate need of a victory. Things did not look good in the Dec. 6 game against Cortland when the Red Dragons scored 38 seconds into the game.
Cue senior captain Charlie Manley.
