Fifteen years after his departure, Mark Morris is back at the helm of Northwood School.
The longtime Clarkson University head coach from Massena, N.Y., began coaching at the Lake Placid prep school in 2004 when he led the team to its first 40-win season ever, before leaving in 2006 to fill the role of head coach for the now-defunct Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
After holding different coaching positions in the AHL, NHL and NCAA in the years since, Morris returned to Northwood to take over for Chadd Cassidy, the former bench boss who, after six seasons, left to become the head coach of the Omaha Lancers in the USHL.
For Morris, the reasons for his return were simple.
