Thirty-one players from the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region were selected in Wednesday's 29-team NAHL Entry Draft.
The first local selection came in the middle stages of the opening round, as 2003-born Salisbury School forward and Yale commit David Chen was plucked by the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks with the 12th overall pick.
The Livingston, N.J., native played a majority of the season with Rochester Coalition 18U due to a limited number of games at the prep level in 2020-21. In 28 games with the Kyle Quick-led split-season squad, he totaled 25 points on 14 goals and 11 assists en route to the USA Hockey 18U National Championship.
