MIDDLETOWN, N.J. — New York Hockey Journal attended Friday's North American Hockey League East Division matchup between the first-place New Jersey Titans and fifth-place Northeast Generals. The Titans hosted the Generals at the Middletown Sports Complex, but the home-ice advantage was not enough to prevent the visiting Generals from securing a 5-4 overtime win.
It was an exciting affair with back-and-forth scoring and plenty of special teams, with a combined 15 power plays and eight goals scored in regulation. Generals forward Ryan Gordon scored 21 seconds into the extra frame. Gordon scored two goals in the game, while Titans' captain Stephen Willey also tallied twice.
The game featured a wide range of talent, including committed and uncommitted players, along with a potential NHL draft selection.
