Ryan Fine became the first 2005-born prospect to commit to a college hockey program, verbally pledging to play at Boston University, he announced Friday.
Fine, from Center Moriches, N.Y., plays for Mid-Fairfield. He spent the 2018-19 season on the bantam minor team, coached by former NHL star Marty St. Louis, whose son, Lucas, also is on the team.
Fine visited the Boston University campus Friday morning prior to taking part in the Eastern Exposure Hockey All-Star Weekend at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.
Fine is certainly one of the top ‘05s in the United States and will be a candidate for the 2021-22 USA Hockey NTDP U-17 team.
