A pair of Chicago Steel stars from the Tri-State Area will head to the 2021 NHL Entry Draft as USHL Clark Cup champions.
Forwards Matt Coronato (New York, N.Y.) and Mackie Samoskevich (Newtown, Conn.) are the region’s top draft prospects heading into the 2021 proceedings. Coronato now appears to be a lock for the first round, while Samoskevich lurks on the fringe of the top 32.
While the duo, Coronato especially, are the darlings of the region, several other players are destined to be plucked off the board when the draft commences on July 23, including another Steel standout in defenseman Ryan Ufko (Smithtown, N.Y.).
