U.S. National Under-18 Team forward Tyler Boucher was the first of three local players selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
An 18-year-old native of Haddonfield, N.J., Boucher was selected No. 10 overall by the Ottawa Senators. He was ranked No. 25 among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting heading into the draft.
Matt Coronato (Huntington, N.Y.) and Mackie Samoskevich (Newtown, Conn.) of the USHL's Chicago Steel were the other Tri-State natives selected in the first round of the draft — held virtually for the second-straight year.
