Grant Riley has had a chip on his shoulder for a while.

The 17-year-old goaltender from Rochester, N.Y., was cut from national teams that competed at the Five Nations Tournament and Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He also tried out for and was cut from the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, finishing as the runner-up.
