
Several New York and New Jersey natives had the chance to show off their physical fitness last week at the 2019 NHL Scouting Combine, where 103 of the top 2019 NHL draft prospects converged on HarborCenter in Buffalo.
The top local performer was USA Hockey NTDP U-18 center John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.), who finished in the top 25 of 10 of the 18 events. The University of Michigan commit is expected to be drafted in the second or third round later this month in Vancouver.
Laurel Hollow, N.Y., native Marshall Warren, a Boston College commit who has played the past two seasons for USA Hockey’s NTDP, also had an impressive week. Warren had eight top-25 finishes, including two where he was the top performer in the event.
