Danny Weight, an 18-year-old center from Lattingtown, N.Y., wanted to play for the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League for the 2019-20 season because he trusted Vees coach, general manager and president Fred Harbinson.
Harbinson, looking to rebound after his club’s first-round loss in the 2019 playoffs, was seeking to sign players with a competitive drive who hate to lose. In other words, a player such as Weight.
