Recruiting: Sacred Heart commits three

Sacred Heart has added three players to their stable for the 2020-21 season.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs enter Ryan Doolin, Johnstown Tomahawks goaltender David Tomeo and Clarkson University left wing Adam Tisdale have all committed to the Pioneers for this fall.

Doolin, a native of Hanover, Mass., played high school hockey at BC High and midget hockey for Boston Advantage before heading to Westminster School for two seasons. A former Harvard commit, Doolin scored 19 goals and added 33 assists in 57 games in the BCHL this past season. The ’99 split time in the USHL between Chicago Steel and Lincoln Stars in 2018-19.

Tomeo, a ’99 from West Caldwell, N.J., has average size, but has been regarded as one of the better college goaltending prospects in the NAHL over the past two seasons. The Shattuck-St. Mary’s alum posted a .913 save percentage in 25 games this winter.

Tisdale just completed his second season playing at Clarkson in ECAC Hockey. The ’98 from Cochrane, Alberta, scored eight goals and added two assists in 26 games. As a freshman in 2018-19, he appeared in 33 games, recording eight assists. He’s likely to get more top-six minutes and playing time with the Pioneers.

Former Titan, Hitman off to AIC

Ryan McInchak, a ’99, has committed to play college hockey for American International.

The Trenton, Mich., native is a journeyman of midget and junior hockey, playing for several organizations. After midget hockey with Belle Tire and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies, McInchak had a pair of breakout seasons with the USPHL NCDC’s Jersey Hitmen. That earned him a call-up to the USHL, where he joined the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

McInchak split time this season between the Lincoln Stars in the USHL and the New Jersey Titans in the NAHL. Although his numbers weren’t great this past season, McInchak is a really good commit for the two-time defending champion of Atlantic Hockey.

Gicewicz on the move

St. Lawrence right wing Carsen Gicewicz will transfer to UMass, where he will be eligible as a graduate student.

The Orchard Park, N.Y., native only played in two games as a senior this past winter because of a season-ending injury. Over his first three seasons at SLU, he posted 21 goals and 33 assists in 99 games.

The Nichols School alum is familiar with UMass head coach Greg Carvel and associate head coach Jared DeMichielas the pair recruited him to St. Lawrence before heading to UMass.
