Maine concluded its stellar summer on the NCAA recruiting trail over the weekend by adding three new commitments, one of which came from 2003-born Salisbury defenseman Liam Lesakowski.
Lesakowski, a 6-foot-4, 216-pound lefty, took to social media to announce his intentions of becoming a future Black Bear on Friday.
Without an official prep season in 2020-21 due to the coronavirus, the Buffalo, N.Y., native spent a majority of this past season with the Kyle Quick-led Rochester Coalition 18-U in addition to his limited time under Andrew Will at the Salisbury, Conn., prep school.
After winning the state tournament, the team of mostly prep school players went on to win the 2021 USA Hockey Youth Tier 1 18-U National Championship. In 32 games, Lesakowski put up 32 points on eight goals and 24 assists.
