College hockey became a dream of Erik Brown’s early on in his hockey journey.
The forward from Keene, Ont., realized when he was young that he was small compared to his peers, which was one reason why he wasn’t drafted into the Ontario Hockey League, and because he was a self-described “stereotypical late bloomer” he was going to need extra years in the amateur ranks to grow into his body and his skill-set.
And after posting 115 points (70-45-115) in 148 games over four seasons at Rochester Institute of Technology and setting the program’s all-time goal-scoring record (for Divison 1) in the process, there’s no doubt reality was better than any dream Brown ever imagined.
