It's the last go-around for Brown University senior defenseman Max Gottlieb. Now in his fourth and final season of manning Brown’s blue line, he will do so with the added demands of wearing a captain’s "C" on his game jerseys.
"It was a huge honor," said Gottlieb, 23, an Old Bridge, N.J., native who was named a captain along with classmate Tommy Marchin, while junior Zach Giuttari was named assistant captain.
"They are all very good players, but just as important they are extremely hard workers who are determined to lead by example daily," said Brown head coach Brendan Whittet at brownbears.com. "They have a sense of purpose, do everything right and are driven to make this season a memorable one for our program and for Brown University."
"It’s the first time I’ve had that sort of leadership position, formally," added Gottlieb. "I’m passionate about Brown hockey, and I want to leave it better than I found it, having a bigger part and responsibility."
