The top 10 finalists for the 2021 Hobey Baker Award were released Wednesday, featuring five players with ties to the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region.
Of the finalists, three hail directly from the tri-state region, while two have regional ties through Quinnipiac in Hamden, C.T.
The Hobey Baker, the most prestigious award in college hockey, is awarded to the top men’s player in the country.
In past years, University of Minnesota defenseman Scott Perunovich (STL) won it in 2020, University of Massachusetts defenseman Cale Makar (COL) won it in 2019, and Northeastern center Adam Gaudette (VAN) won the award in 2018.
