Twenty-seven Tri-State Area natives were selected in Thursday's USHL Phase II Draft.
It didn't take long for the first local name to come off the board in the 22-round draft, as Jeremy Wilmer (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was plucked by the Waterloo Blackhawks with the third overall pick.
The 2003-born center and Boston University commit recently played his Under-18 season with the U.S. NTDP. In 37 games, Wilmer, 17, totaled 36 points on 11 goals and 25 assists.
