The U.S. National Junior Team scored five goals in the opening period en route to a 9-0 thrashing of Denmark on Tuesday evening in the team’s opening game of the 2018 World Junior Championship.
The defending Gold Medal champion added two goals in each of the next two periods. Buffalo Sabres prospect Casey Mittelstadt and New York Islanders prospect Kieffer Bellows both scored two goals. Max Jones, Kailer Yamamoto, Patrick Harper, Andrew Peeke, and Dylan Samberg also lit the lamp for the Americans. In total, 15 U.S. players recorded at least a point.
