After an unprecedented season of college hockey, the NCAA transfer portal is buzzing with activity like it has never seen before.
Several factors are behind the recent influx and record number of players in the portal.
For starters, the NCAA ruled that the 2020-21 season does not count towards any player's eligibility. So, due to the nature of the COVID-impacted season and several programs that could not play games in 2020-21, any player could return for next season if they wanted.
