Jersey Hitmen 2002-born goaltender Chase Clark could have spent hours in front of the television on July 24 watching every minute of Day 2 of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
After being skipped over in his first year of draft eligibility, he was the No. 23-ranked North American goalie. It seemed likely that his name would be called by one of the 32 NHL teams this time around.
Due to the unprecedented nature of the season with limited viewings and draft rankings seemingly flying out the window as the two-day event wore on, however, it was anything but certain.
So instead of sitting in front of the screen in anticipation, the 19-year-old from Williamsville, N.Y., took the advice of his advisor and went out for a bike ride.
