It's been almost two months since St. Lawrence fired Mark Morris after three seasons at the helm of the school's storied hockey program.
Despite an embarrassing search for his replacement that has seen a botched attempt to hire American International head coach Eric Lang as well as a failed ability to identify some obviously strong candidates, it's looking like a new coach could be in place soon.
Tri-City Storm head coach Anthony Noreen was on campus yesterday to interview the position before Clarkson University assistant coach Brent Brekke was in Canton, N.Y. to do the same today.
Noreen, 36, is considered one of the top up-and-coming coaches in the game today. A Wisconsin-Stevens Point alum, Noreen just finished his second season as head coach of the USHL's Storm. He was head coach of the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears the prior two years. Before that, he spent five years with the USHL's Youngstown Phantoms.
