Each year a lot of young hockey players from New York and New Jersey migrate north to play prep school hockey in New England. That was the case once again in 2021-22 as several prospects made quite a name for themselves as they had big impacts on their respective teams in the NEPSAC.

Skating in prep school hockey in New England affords talented players with the chance to compete against other like minded individuals while receiving a terrific education. While the academy model teams, such as Bishop Kearney Selects, Mount Saint Charles and South Kent Selects Academy, are certainly creeping into the picture, there remains an abundance of talented players in the NEPSAC.

New York Hockey Journal will begin showcasing the top NEPSAC players from New York and New Jersey over the coming weeks, starting with the 2003 birth year. There are less high end `03s in prep hockey than at the younger ages so we’ll expand the lists after this age. For the `03s, it’s broken down into a quasi All-Uncommitted Team format. It will deviate a little with three forwards, one defenseman and two goaltenders.
