ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Damien Carfagna entered the USHL's American Cup event from Dec. 3-4 tied in the league's lead for scoring by a defenseman.
In the two contests played between Carfagna's Green Bay Gamblers and Youngstown Phantoms, the skilled defenseman came away with two points with one goal and one assist. Green Bay won both games at the showcase, making it a successful weekend for Carfagna, who performed in front of family and friends who traveled from his hometown of Wood-Ridge, N.J., to attend the games.
"It was nice to see some familiar faces and friends," Carfagna said. "When you're living one-thousand miles from home, you don't get to see your family and friends a lot, but for them to make the short four-and-a-half-hour drive to watch me play means a lot."
