From Aug. 7-12, USA Hockey will hold the Women’s National Festival at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y.
With the over-18 players, the goal is to evaluate players for the 2023-24 U.S. Women’s National Team, which competes at the Rivalry Series in November and December.
It also is used to help pick the Collegiate Women’s Select Team rosters for the Collegiate Series against Canada. That will happen Aug. 16-19 in Lake Placid.
In all, 11 New Yorkers will be at the festival on the over-18 side along with one player from New Jersey.
The lone New Jersey player is Kate Monihan (Moorestown, N.J.). The 5-foot-5, right-shot defender has been at Princeton since the 2019-20 season.
