Thirteen players from New York and New Jersey were listed by NHL Central Scouting when the organization released its preliminary players to watch list on Tuesday.
The region had no ‘A’ rated prospects, which is the grade NHL Central Scouting gives for projected first-round picks. Five skaters did get the nod for being ‘B’ rated, which assumes a player could be picked in the second or third rounds.
Tri-City Storm right wing Tanner Adams (Northport, N.Y.) and USA Hockey NTDP U18 defensemen Drew Fortescue (Nyack, N.Y.) and Aram Minnetian (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) earned that distinction among those in the USHL.
A pair of forwards playing in the OHL, Quentin Musty (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Carey Terrance (Akwesasne, N.Y.) also received ‘B’ grades.
