The inaugural Professional Women's Hockey League draft took place on Monday, with the new league's six teams — Boston, New York, Minnesota, Toronto, Monreal and Ottawa — selecting important pieces of their franchises.
Three New York and New Jersey natives were picked.
Along with the three locals, 20 other players with ties to the region were picked. Most of those came from playing at local colleges. Clarkson, Cornell and St. Lawrence will have tons of alumni playing in the PWHL.
