A new boys' hockey season is rapidly approaching in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, and many local players from the New York and New Jersey area are among the players looking forward to hitting the ice with their teammates.
Thirty-two players will begin the season with college logos next to their names on respective line charts, including seven returners from 2021-22 who were committed during last season.
Five of the 32 committed prep players hail from New York, the state with the second-highest amount of representation. Massachusetts is first with 15. Rhode Island has three while Connecticut, New Hampshire and the province of Quebec have two each. New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana are three other states represented.
