The series on uncommitted players from the region continues with the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC). The NCDC is a 13-team, non-tuition league that is unsanctioned with USA Hockey.
The NCDC is primarily suited for D-3 recruitment. Still, this year the league has earned three Division 1 commitments, including ’01 forward Dylan Lugris (Buffalo, N.Y.), who recently committed to Penn State for the second half of the 2021-22 season. Lugris was the captain of the Jersey Hitmen before making his commitment.
In addition to an All-Star weekend, the NCDC still has two more showcases to host before the playoffs, giving its players multiple opportunities for college exposure.
Rockets Hockey Club ‘03 forward Evan Brown (Little Silver, N.J.) leads the charge of potential D-1 prospects in the league, joined by South Shore Kings ‘01 forward Timothy Heinke (Kensington, Conn.) and PAL Islanders ‘01 forward Spencer Korona (Enfield, Conn.). In addition, there are two defensemen and goalie who colleges should be watching in the new year.
